VR Mergers and Acquisition Announces the Completion of a Multi-Campus Cosmetology School to a Strategic Acquirer

January 15, 2009

VR SF was able to successfully complete the sale of a long established Cosmetology School to a Corporation, which has a long history in the sector. VR SFs objective in this transaction was not to find an individual or financial purchaser, but rather a strategic acquirer that would realize synergies from the assets and future growth opportunities our client represented. It was a long, and sometimes arduous process, but we stayed focused on the relatively small number of Private Equity Groups and Corporations that were active in this sector.

After qualifying over two-dozen initial targets, VR SF was able to narrow down this large list to a select few that not only showed a strong interest in our client but also had the experience and knowledge to leverage and grow our clients assets going forward.

The key to a successful engagement when you are targeting corporate buyers is to know your potential purchasers well enough that you can craft your clients value proposition that is meaningful to each purchaser given their existing assets and operations. Often this is different for each potential purchaser.

The VR SF Mergers and Acquisition process is what makes the difference in a transaction of this magnitude and complexity, according to George Arabian, President of VR San Francisco. It is critical to have the discipline and research capabilities to understand whom the players are in a specific market and then go after those targets in a systematic and timely manner. Our client trusted the process and it delivered the results.
